Zonita (Website-related)

Change of email address

Glenn Hutchings — Sat, 15 Feb 2020 13:44:04 GMT

You may or may not be aware that we have recently had problems with our email system, and missed some bookings for the February showing. As a result, we've decided to move the Zonita email address to a more reliable one, at zonitacinema@gmail.com. You can also send email to the Zonita's Facebook email address: zonita.ampthill@gmail.com. The old info@zonita.org.uk address may still work for now, and will still be shown on posters for a while, but we ask that you use the new address when reserving tickets and tables from now on.

Site is up again

Well, if you're reading this, the site is back up again. It has been unavailable since the 5th October, when our web host had a file system failure.

Sorry about the inconvenience! Unfortunately there was nothing we could do about it except wait for the problem to be resolved. Judging by the frequency of previous problems (which you can see here), this amount of downtime was pretty unusual.

Website improvements

Glenn Hutchings — Fri, 29 Jul 2016 09:16:36 GMT

I've added a few new features recently. On the main page:

You can see what films are on at the next showing, and when it is
There's a summary of the most recent news items (like this one)

For each movie on the What's On page:

There's a movie rating icon, which links to the BBFC guide for that rating
Next to the rating, there's a list of genres for the movie
There's also a link to the YouTube trailer (if available)

If you have any ideas for other stuff you'd like to see on the site, let me know (at the usual email address below).

Hello!

Glenn Hutchings — Fri, 11 Dec 2015 17:57:20 GMT

Welcome to the new Zonita website. The old one recently lost its maintainer, and someone finally volunteered to take over (er, that's me).

I hope that this site is more readable and useful, and would appreciate feedback (improvements, ideas for more pages, or any problems you find). You can either leave a comment using the link above, or email me at zondo42@gmail.com.
